Human Rights in the Curriculum

The Human Rights in the Curriculum series published by Amnesty International for Key Stage 3 and 4 includes handbooks for Spanish, French and History, all edited by Margot Brown from CGE (History jointly with Sara Slater). Each handbook includes lesson ideas and classroom activities. Topics covered include: slavery and child labour, women, the Holocaust, homelessness and rights of the child.

 

Local Citizen, Global Citizen

Local Citizen, Global Citizen from Christian Aid for Key Stage 2 and 3 provides lively activities around Growing Up, Word House and the Global Cake to support PSHCE. Children can explore the concepts of growth and development, interdependence and relationships. Authors Margot Brown (CGE) and Di Durie (DECSY).

 

Rights in Deed

Rights in Deed is a British Council handbook to help secondary students explore concepts like: identity, equality, dignity, choice, power, participation and responsibility from a human rights perspective. It was produced for use in Romanian schools with Margot Brown (CGE) acting as consultant.
