Human Rights in the Curriculum

The Human Rights in the Curriculum series published by Amnesty International for Key Stage 3 and 4 includes handbooks for Spanish, French and History, all edited by Margot Brown from CGE (History jointly with Sara Slater). Each handbook includes lesson ideas and classroom activities. Topics covered include: slavery and child labour, women, the Holocaust, homelessness and rights of the child.

Local Citizen, Global Citizen from Christian Aid for Key Stage 2 and 3 provides lively activities around Growing Up, Word House and the Global Cake to support PSHCE. Rights in Deed is a British Council handbook to help secondary students explore concepts like: identity, equality, dignity, choice, power, participation and responsibility from a human rights perspective. It was produced for use in Romanian schools with Margot Brown (CGE) acting as consultant.
